Tthe First Ten Days of Dhul-Hijjah

The Superiority of the First Ten Days of Dhul-Hijjah

By Shaykh ibn al-Uthaymeen, may Allah have mercy on him
All praise is due to Allah, Lord of the Worlds. May peace and blessings be upon the Chief of the Messengers, Muhammad.

Indeed it is a great favour and blessing from Allah that He has made for His righteous servants periods of time within which they can increase in good deeds to attain great rewards and one of these opportunistic periods is the first ten days of Dhul-Hijjah (the final month of the Islamic Calendar, in which the hajj is performed).

SUPERIORITY OF THE FIRST TEN DAYS OF DHUL-HIJJAH
The excellence of these ten days have been mentioned in the Qur'ân and the Sunnah.
1. Allah says in the Qur'ân:

"By the dawn and by the ten nights … " [Al-Qur'ân 89:1-2]
Ibn Kathîr said that "the ten nights" referred to here are the ten days of Dhul-Hijjah, and this opinion was also held by Ibn Abbâs, Ibn az-Zubair, Mujâhid and others.

2. The Messenger of Allah, peace be upon him, said:

"There are no deeds as excellent as those done in these ten days." They (the companions listening) said, "Not even Jihâd?" He, peace be upon him, said, "No, not even Jihâd except a man who goes forth endangering his life and wealth and does not return with anything." [Recorded by al-Imâm al-Bukhârî]

3. Allah says:

" … and remember the name of Allah in the appointed days." [Al-Qur'ân 2:203]
Ibn Abbâs and Ibn Kathîr said this means in the ten days of Dhul-Hijjah.

4. The Messenger of Allah, upon whom be peace, said:
"There are no other days that are as great as these in the sight of Allah, the Most Sublime. Nor are there any deeds more beloved to Allah then those that are done in these ten days. So increase in tahlîl (to say lâ illaha illallah), takbîr (to say allahu akbar) and tahmîd (to say alhumdulillâh)." [Reported by at-Tabarânî in al-Mu'jum al-Kabîr]

5. With regards to the noble companion Saîd bin Jubair, when the days of Dhul-Hijjah began he would strive to increase in good actions with great intensity until he was unable to increase anymore. [Reported by ad-Dârimî]

6. Ibn Hajar says in Fath al-Bârî:

"The most apparent reason for the ten days of Dhul-Hijjah being distinguished in excellence is due to the assembly of the greatest acts of worship in this period, i.e. salawât (prayers), siyâm (fasting), sadaqah (charity) and the hajj (pilgrimage). In no other periods do these great deeds combine."

WHAT ARE THE RECOMMENDED ACTS IN THESE DAYS?
1. The Prayer - It is highly recommended to perform the obligatory acts at their prescribed times (as early as possible) and to increase oneself in the superogatory acts, for indeed, this is what brings a person closer to their Lord. The Messenger of Allah, upon whom be peace, said:

"Upon you is to increase in your prostration to Allah, for verily you do not prostrate to Allah with even one prostration, except that He raises you in degrees and decreases your sins because of it." [Reported by Muslim]

2. Fasting - This has been mentioned as one of the acts of righteousness where Hanbada ibn Khâlid reports on the authority of his wife who reports that some of the wives of the Prophet, peace be upon him, said:

The Prophet, upon whom be peace, would fast on the ninth of Dhul-Hijjah, the day of Âshûra and three days in every month. [Recorded by Ahmad, Abu Dâwûd, an-Nisâî and others]
Al-Imâm an-Nawawî said that fasting in these ten days is extremely recommended.

3. Saying allahu akbar; lâ illaha illallah and alhamdulillâh - It is found in the aforementioned narration of Ibn 'Umar:

"So increase yourselves in saying lâ illaha illallah, allahu akbar and alhamdulillâh."
Al-Imâm Bukhârî, may Allah have mercy on him, said:
"Ibn 'Umar and Abû Hurayrah, may Allah be pleased with them both, used to go out to the markets in the ten days saying the takbîr causing the people to follow them in this action."

He also said:
"Umar ibn al-Khattâb used to say the takbîr in his minaret in Mina, whereupon the people of the mosque hearing 'Umar, would start to say the takbîr as would the people in the markets until the whole of Mina was locked in glorifying Allah."

Ibn 'Umar used to say the takbîr in Mina during these ten days and after prayers, whilst on his bed, in his tent, in his gathering and whilst walking. What is recommended is to say the takbîr aloud due to the fact that 'Umar ibn al-Khattâb, his son and Abû Hurayrah used to do likewise, may Allah be pleased with them all

Strive with us O Muslims in reviving this sunnah that has become lost in these times and it was almost forgotten, even amongst the people of righteousness and goodness all of which is unfortunately in opposition to what the best of generations were upon (preserving and maintaining the superogatory acts).

There are a number of ways of making takbîr that have been narrated by the companions and their followers and from these ways is the following:
-         Allahu akbar, allahu akbar, allahu akbar kabîrun.
-         Allahu akbar, allahu akbar, lâ ilaha illallah, wallahu akbar, wallahu akbar, wa lillahil hamd.
-         Allahu akbar, allahu akbar, allahu akbar, lâ ilaha illallah, wallahu akbar, allahu akbar wa lillâhil hamd.

4. Fasting on the day of 'Arafah - Fasting has been affirmed on the day of 'Arafah, where it has been confirmed from the Prophet, peace be upon him, that he said regarding fasting on the day of 'Arafah:

"Be content with the fact that Allah will expiate for you your sins for the year before (the day of 'Arafah) and the year after (the day of 'Arafah)." [Reported by Muslim]

However, whoever is at 'Arafah as a pilgrim then fasting is not expected of him, as the Prophet, peace be upon him, stopped at 'Arafah to eat.

May the peace of Allah be upon his Prophet, the family of the Prophet and all of his companions

Righteous Wife

As-Salamu Alaykum (peace be upon you),

Attributes of a Righteous Wife

"If a woman prays her five (daily prayers), fasts her month (i.e. Ramadan), guards her private parts, and obeys her husband, it will be said to her, 'Enter Paradise through whichever of the gates of Paradise you wish.'" [Sahih Al-Bukhari]

Devotion and Obedience to Allah such that she fulfills His rights, such as the prayer, fasting, chastity covering herself, withholding her gaze and so on.

Obedience to Her Husband in that which does not involve disobedience to Allah such that she fulfills his rights completely. Allah's Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him) said,

"If I were to order anyone to prostrate to other than Allah, I would have ordered the woman to prostrate to her husband. By Him in whose Hand is the soul of Muhammad, the woman will not fulfill the rights of her Lord until she fulfills the rights of her husband; and even if he were to request her for herself (i.e. to have intercourse with her) whilst she was sitting upon a camel's saddle, she should not refuse him." [Sahih, reported by Ibn Majah and Ahmad from Abdullah ibn Awfa]

That She Guards and Preserves Herself and Her Honor, in the Absence of Her Husband, from the hand of anyone wishing to touch her, the eye of anyone wishing to look upon her, and the ear of anyone wishing to listen to her.

Likewise that she preserves her husband's children, home and wealth. Allah says:

"Men are the protectors and maintainers of women, because Allah has made the one of them to excel the other, and because they spend (to support them) from their means. Therefore the righteous women are devoutly obedient (to Allah and to their husbands), and guard in the husband's absence what Allah orders them to guard (e.g. their chastity, their husband's property, etc.)..." [Noble Quran 4:34]

Serving Her Husband.

From Husain ibn Mihsan who said that my paternal aunt said,

"I came to Allah's Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him) for some need, so he asked, 'You there! Are you married?' I replied, 'Yes.' He then asked, 'How are you towards your husband?' She responded, 'I do not fall short in his service except with regard to what I am unable to do.' He said, 'Then look to your standing with him, for indeed he is your Paradise and your Fire.'" [Sahih, reported by al-Hadim and others]

Here is an example of how Asma bint Abu Bakr served her husband. She said,

"Az-Zubayr married me and he did not have any property or slaves or anything upon the earth except for a camel which drew water from the well and his horse. So I used to feed his horse, draw the water, stitch his water bucket, and prepare the dough, but I was not proficient in baking bread - so ladies from the Ansar who were my neighbors and were honorable used to bake the bread for me. I also used to carry the date-stones upon my head, from the land given to Az-Zubayr by Allah's Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him) - and it was about two miles away. One day when I was coming with the date-stones on my head, I met Allah's Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him) and a group of the Ansar were with him. So he called me and said, 'ikh, ikh (a word said to make the camel kneel down.).' in order to carry me behind him upon the camel. But I felt shy to proceed along with the men, and I thought of Az-Zubayr and his sense of jealousy, and he was one of the most jealous of the people. So Allah's Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him) saw my shyness and so passed on. So I came to Az-Zubayr and said, 'Allah's Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him) met me while I was carrying the date-stones upon my head and with him were a group of his Companions. He caused his riding camel to kneel, but I felt shy and remembered your sense of jealousy.' So he said, 'By Allah your having to carry the date-stones is harder upon me than that you should ride along with him.'" She said, "Then later on Abu Bakr sent me a servant to look after the horse, so it was if he had set me free." [Reported by Al-Bukhari and Muslim]

Keeping the Husband's Secrets.

Particularly what occurs between him and her in private - with regard to sexual matters and the private affairs within the marriage.

From Asma bint Yazid who said that she was in the company of Allah's Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him) and men and women were sitting, and he (peace and blessings be upon him) said,

"Perhaps a man mentions that which he did with his wife, and perhaps a woman informs of what she does with her husband?!" So the people were silent, so I said, "Yes, by Allah,, O Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him)! The women certainly do that, and the men certainly do that." He (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "Then do not do so, since that is just like a male devil meeting a female devil upon the way, and he has intercourse with her while the people are watching." [Reported by Ahmad and there are witnessing narration's which raise it to the level of being Sahih or Hasan at the very least]

She Should Appear Before the Husband in the Best Appearance, such that if he looks at her it pleases him.

Abu Hurairah narrates: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) was asked, "Which of the women is the best?" He replied, "The one who gives him (the husband) pleasure when he looks (at her outer beauty, or the inner beauty of her good character and how she devotes herself to obedience to Allah and Taqwa); obeys him when he orders; and does not go against his wishes with regard to herself or her wealth by doing that which he dislikes." [Sahih Muslim, reported by an-Nasa'i, al-Hakim and Ahmad]

She Should Not Permit Anyone to Enter Her Husband's House Except With His Permission

From Abu Hurairah who said that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said,

"It is not permissible for a woman to fast when her husband is present except with his permission; nor may she permit anyone to enter his house except with his permission; and whatever she spends in charity without his order - then half of the reward is for him." [Reported by Al-Bukhari]

She Should Not Ask Her Husband For Divorce Without a Reason Necessitating That

From Thawban who said that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said,

"Whichever woman asks her husband for divorce without a strong reason - then the fragrance of Paradise will be forbidden for her."[Sahih Muslim, reported by Abu Dawud, at-Tirmidhi and others]

Avoidance of Cursing

Abu Sa'id al-Khudri said, "The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) went out to the prayer-ground for the (prayer of) Adha or Fitr, and he passed by the women and said,

'O women! Give in charity, for I have been shown that you shall be the majority of the people in the Fire.' So they asked, 'Why is that, O Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him)!' He replied, 'You curse frequently and are ungrateful to your husbands.'"[Reported by Al-Bukhari]

Being Thankful to the Husband for the good he does and for his good treatment to his wife.

This is accomplished by good words, and by her obedience to him in what is good, and by not forgetting his good treatment and avoiding denying this, since that is one of the reasons which brings about the entry into the Fire.

From Ibn Abbas who said that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said,

"I was shown the Fire and found that the majority of its inhabitants were women, due to ingratitude. It was said: "Is it that they disbelieve in Allah?" He said: They are ungrateful to their husbands and deny the good they do. If you were to treat one of them well always, and she then saw something (displeasing) from you she would say: 'I have never seen any good from you.'" [Reported by Al-Bukhari]

She Should Not Remove Her Clothes Outside Her Husband's House

Allah's Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him) said,

"Whichever woman removes her clothes in other than her house, then Allah, will tear down His cover from her." [Sahih-Jami, reported by al-Hakim and others]

What is apparent is that removal of her clothing means uncovering herself to strange males, for the purpose of sexual intercourse or that which leads to it.

Striving to Please the Husband by Every Possible Means

The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said,

"Your women from the people of Paradise are the beloved and fertile, the one who is an asset to her husband, who if her husband becomes angry - comes and places her hand in the hand of her husband and says, 'I will not taste sleep until you are pleased (with me).'"

A Condition of Hijab

As-Salamu Alaykum (peace be upon you),
A Condition of Hijab: It Should Not be an Adornment in Itself
by Sheikh Muhammad Nasiruddin al-Albani

[Taken from the book Jilbab ul Mar-ah Muslimah fi Kitab wa Sunnah]

According to the statement of The Exalted in the verse of Surat Nur:

"...and not to reveal their adornment..." [Noble Quran 24:31]

It also includes the outer clothing (covering), if this clothing is an adornment which attracts men to look at her. And this is further proven in the statement of The Exalted:

"...And stay in your houses, and do not display yourselves like that of the times of ignorance," [Noble Quran 33:33]

And the statement of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him):

"Do not ask about three people [meaning they are destroyed]: a man who disobeyed his ruler and left the Muslim Jama'ah (unity); and died upon this state, and a male or female slave who ran away; and died upon this state, and a woman who's husband is away; and he left everything she needs for her -of the worldly provisions- yet even after this: she openly displays her beauty [to strangers]. So do not ask about these kinds of people."
[Narrated by al-Hakim and Imam Ahmad; and its chain is Sahih (authentic). And al-Hakim said: "It is upon their agreed with conditions (meaning Bukhari and Muslim). And I don't see any defect in that," and Ad-Dthahabi agreed with him as well.]

Tabarruj:
It is when a woman displays (shows) that which will cause [or stir the] desire of the men. It can be from her beauty, or her cosmetics, and all what she is supposed to cover." And the purpose of the commandment for wearing the Jilbab; is to cover the beauty of a woman. So it is not sensible that the Jilbab itself should be attractive. Thus on this Imam ad-Dthahabi said in 'Kitab al-Kaba'ir' [The Book of Major sins] page 131:

"And from the actions which cause a woman to be cursed are :

1) Displaying her beauty, or her gold and pearls that she is wearing, or

2) Leaving her house while having perfumed herself with perfume or musk, or

3) Her wearing of very attractive colors, and

4) Outer garments (Jilbabs) that are shorter than the dress she is wearing inside.

All of these are actions which cause Allah to be angry upon her, and it causes the one who do so; to incur anger and detestation in this world and the Hereafter.

This act of Tabarruj (wanton display) is strongly warned against in Islam; to the point that it has been attached and mentioned together with Shirk (associating partners with Allah), and Zina (illegal sexual intercourse), and stealing, and other than these from the actions which are all Haram.

Abdullah ibn 'Umar said: "Umaimah bint Raqiqah came to the prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) to take an oath of allegiance with him in Islam. So he (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "I take your pledge that: you do not to associate anything with Allah (Shirk), not to steal, not to commit adultery, not to kill your children, nor to produce any lie that you have devised between your hands and feet, and not to wail [scream] when someone dies, and not to commit Tabarruj like the Tabarruj of Jahiliyyah (not to display yourselves like that of the times of ignorance.)" [Narrated by Imam Ahmad with a Hasan Isnad (a good chain of narration]

So clothing made of silk textile from different colors with designs of gold and silver; which amaze and draw the attention of the eyes are considered "wanton display".

It is not considered as an adornment if the cover of a woman is of other colors, and not white or black. This is something that is unclear to some of the Muslim women who are sticking to and practicing the religion. [They think that wearing a cover of other colors is not permissible].

And to prove this, there are the actions of the female companions regarding this issue which are narrated by al-Hafidth ibn Abi Shaybah in his book 'al-Mussanaf':

From Ibrahim, "That he together with Alqamah and al-Aswad; used to enter upon the wives of the prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and they used to see them dressed in red outer coverings."

From Ibn Abi Mulaykah, who said: "I saw Umm Salamah dressed in clothing, and a covering dyed with saffron." (Saffron produces either red or yellow).

From al-Qasim, the son of Muhammad ibn Abu Bakr as-Siddiq -"That 'Ayshah used to wear yellow clothing; and she was in a state of Ihram."

And from a narration from al-Qasim: "That 'Ayshah used to wear clothing dyed with saffron; and she was in a state of Ihram."

From Hisham, from Fatima bint Mundhir: "That Asma used to dress in clothing dyed with saffron; and she was in Ihram."

From Sa'id ibn Jubayr that he saw "some of the wives of the prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), making Tawaf in the house [Masjid al-Haram in Makkah] ; and they were dressed in (cover) clothing which were dyed with saffron."

Loving for the sake of Allah

As-Salamu Alaykum (peace be upon you),

Loving for the sake of Allah
Dr. Muhammad Ali Al-Hashimi

Many Hadith describe the status of two people who love one another for the sake of Allah and describe the high position in Paradise which He has promised them and the great honour which He will bestow upon them on the Day when mankind is resurrected to meet the Rabb of the Worlds: Among them is the Hadith which describes the seven whom Allah will shade on the Day when there is no shade but His:

"...a just leader; a youth who grows up worshipping Allah; a man who is deeply attached to the mosque; two men who love one another for the sake of Allah meeting for His sake and parting for His sake; a man who is called by a beautiful woman and says, I fear Allah; a man who gives charity in secret such that his left hand does not know what his right hand is doing; and a man who remembers Allah when he is alone and his eyes fill with tears." [Bukhari and Muslim]

The two who love one another for the sake of Allah are clearly shown to be among those whom Allah will shelter with His shade and upon whom He will shower His mercy and kindness. What a great honour! It is enough honour for those who love one another for the sake of Allah that their Almighty Rabb will greet them on the Day of Resurrection and say to them:

"Where are those who loved one another for My glory? Today I will shade them in My shade on the Day when there is no shade but Mine." [Muslim]

Such is the magnificent honour and tremendous reward that will be bestowed upon those who truly loved one another for the sake of Allah on that awesome Day.

Love for the sake of Allah and not for the sake of anything else in this life which is filled with greed, desires and interests, is very difficult, and none can attain it except the one who is pure of heart, for whom this world is as nothing compared to the pleasure of Allah. It is not surprising that Allah should give them a status and blessing which is commensurate with their position in this world, above whose concerns they have risen. We find proof of this in the Hadith of Mu'adth who said that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:

"Allah said: 'Those who love one another for My glory, will have Minbars of light, and the Prophets and martyrs will wish that they had the same." [Reported by al-Tirmidhi, who said it is a Hasan Sahih Hadith]

Allah gives to those who love one another for His sake a gift which is even greater than this status and blessing: that is His precious love which is very difficult to attain. This is proven by the Hadith of Abu Hurairah in which the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:

"A man went to visit a brother of his in another village. Allah sent an angel to wait for him on the road. When the man came along, the angel asked him, 'Where do you intend to go?' He said, 'I am going to visit a brother of mine who lives in this village.' The angel asked, 'Have you done him any favor (for which you are now seeking repayment)?' He said, 'No. I just love him for the sake of Allah.' The angel told him, I am a messenger to you from Allah sent to tell you that He loves you as you love your brother for His sake."' [Muslim]

What a great love, that raises a man to a position where Allah loves him and is pleased with him!

The teaching of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) goes even further and states that the better of two brothers who love one another for the sake of Allah is the one who loves his brother more.

The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:

"No two men love one another, but the better of them is the one whose love for his brother is greater." [Reported by Bukhari in al-Adab al-Mufrad]

Islam goes even further in spreading love in the rightly guided Muslim society by telling the Muslim that if he loves his brother, he should tell him.

The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:

"If a man loves his brother, let him tell him that he loves him."[Reported by Abu Dawud and al-Tirmidhi, who said it is a Sahih Hadith]

The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) understood the impact of this strong, pure love in building societies and nations, so he never let any occasion pass without advocating this love and commanding the Muslims to announce their love for one another, in order to open hearts and spread love and purity among the ranks of the Ummah.

Anas said that a man was with the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), when another man passed by. The first man said, "O Messenger of Allah, indeed I truly love this man." The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) asked him, "Have you let him know that?" He said, "No." The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "Tell him." He caught up with him and told him, "Truly I love you for the sake of Allah," and the man said, "May Allah love you who loves me for His sake." [Reported by Abu Dawud, with a Sahih Isnad]

Mu'adth began to spread this pure love among the Muslims throughout the Muslim lands, telling them what he had heard from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) about the great reward that Allah had prepared for those who loved one another for His sake, and about His great love for them. In al-Muwatta', Imam Malik gives a report with a Sahih Isnad from Abu Idris al-Khulani who said:

"I entered the mosque of Damascus, where I saw a young man who had a bright smile, and I saw the people gathered around him. When they disagreed on some matter, they referred it to him, and accepted his opinion. I asked who he was, and they told me, 'This is Mu'adth ibn Jabal." Early the next day, I went to the mosque but I found that he had arrived even earlier than I. He was praying, so I waited until he had finished, then I approached him from in front, greeted him and said, 'By Allah I love you.' He said, 'For the sake of Allah?' I said, 'For the sake of Allah'. He repeated his question, 'For the sake of Allah?' and I said, 'For the sake of Allah.' So he took hold of my collar and pulled me towards him and said, 'I have good news for you. I heard the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) say: "Allah Almighty says: 'My love is granted to those who love one another for My sake, who visit one another for My sake, and who spend on one another for My sake.'"'

Gate of Al- Rayyan in Jannah for those who will Fast !

Gate of Al- Rayyan in Jannah for those who will Fast !

Allaah has enjoined upon the Muslims fasting the month of Ramadaan, and He has promised a great reward to those who fast. Because the virtue of fasting is so great, Allaah has not specified the reward for it, rather He said – in a hadeeth qudsi“… except for fasting, for it is for Me, and I shall reward for it.”
The virtues of the month of Ramadaan are many. For example, that which Allaah has promised those who fast, namely the gate of al-Rayyaan. This is the name which was narrated in the hadeeth whose authenticity is agreed upon. Sahl (may Allaah be pleased with him) said that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said:
“In Paradise there is a gate called al-Rayyaan, through which those who used to fast will enter on the Day of Resurrection, and no one but they will enter it. It will be said, ‘Where are those who fasted?’ They will get up, and none will enter it but them. When they have entered, it will be locked, and no one else will enter.” (al-Bukhaari, 1763; Muslim, 1947).
Among the ahaadeeth which explain the reward for fasting are the following:
It was narrated from Abu Salamah that Abu Hurayrah said: “The Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: ‘Whoever fasts Ramadaan out of faith and seeking reward, his previous sins will be forgiven.’” (Narrated by al-Bukhaari, al-Eemaan, 37).
It was narrated that Abu Hurayrah (may Allaah be pleased with him) said: “The Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said:
‘Allaah says: “Every deed of the son of Adam is for him, except for fasting; it is for Me and I shall reward for it.” Fasting is a shield and when one of you is fasting he avoid sexual relations with his wife and quarreling. If somebody should fight or quarrel with him, he should say, ‘I am fasting.’ By the One in Whose hand is my soul, the unpleasant smell coming out from the mouth of a fasting person is better in the sight of Allaah than the smell of musk. The fasting person will have two moments of joy: one when he breaks his fast, and the other when he meets his Lord; then he will be pleased because of his fasting.’
(Narrated by al-Bukhaari, 1771)
It is known that Paradise has many gates, because Allaah says (interpretation of the meaning):
“Adn (Eden) Paradise (everlasting Gardens), which they shall enter and (also) those who acted righteously from among their fathers, and their wives, and their offspring. And angels shall enter unto them from every gate.”
[al-Ra’d 13:23]
“And those who kept their duty to their Lord (Al-Muttaqoon – the pious) will be led to Paradise in groups till when they reach it, and its gates will be opened (before their arrival for their reception) and its keepers will say: Salaamun ‘Alaykum (peace be upon you)! You have done well, so enter here to abide therein.”
[al-Zumar 39:73]
In the saheeh ahaadeeth it says that there are eight gates:
It was narrated from Sahl ibn Sa’d (may Allaah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: “In Paradise there are eight gates, among which is a gate called al-Rayyaan, which none will enter but those who fast.” (Narrated by al-Bukhaari, 3017).
It was narrated from ‘Ubaadah (may Allaah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said:
“Whoever bears witness that there is no god but Allaah alone, with no partner or associate, and that Muhammad is His slave and Messenger, and that ‘Eesa (Jesus) is the slave of Allaah and His Messenger, and a word which Allaah bestowed on Maryam and a spirit created by Him (cf. al-Nisa’ 4:171), and that Paradise is true and Hell is true, will have the right to be admitted by Allaah to Paradise through whichever of the eight gates he wishes, because of his good deeds.” (Narrated by al-Bukhaari, 3180; Muslim, 41)
One of the bounties that Allaah has bestowed upon this ummah is that He opens all the gates of Paradise during the month of Ramadaan, not just one gate. Whoever says that there is a gate in Paradise called Baab al-Radwaan has to produce evidence for that.
It was narrated from Abu Hurayrah (may Allaah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said:
“When Ramadaan begins, the gates of Paradise are opened and the gates of Hell are closed, and the devils are chained up.”
(Narrated by al-Bukhaari, 3035; Muslim 1793)
We ask Allaah to make us among those who will enter Paradise. May Allaah bless our Prophet Muhammad.

I want you to imagine that you are selected for Olympics to represent your country. Now, the final event is the 4 x 400 meters relay and you are the last person among the four. All the 3 have finished running and now it is your turn. You start your race really quick, in the middle you maintain a medium pace, and in the final 100 meters, you sprint. You know that the success of this race lies on finishing this final lap.
If Ramadan is a race, then is the last 10 day, the final lap ? You are not sure whether you will represent olympics again in your life. Same way, you are not sure if you will represent ramadan once again in your life.
So -this final lap is the chance. To get the best out of it. To successfully win and get the best you want from this ramadan.
our site presents the final ramadan technique : “Olympics 4×400 Meters relay technique”.
Follow the below 5 points and inshah Allah, you will win the relay – with your best performance ever in your life.
1) Increase Your Ibadath : Do I’tikaf.
Al-Bukhari and Muslim record from ‘Aishah that during the last ten days of Ramadan, the Messenger of Allah would wake his wives up during the night and then remain apart from them (that is, being busy in acts of worship). A narration in Muslim states: “He would strive [to do acts of worship] during the last ten days of Ramadan more than he would at any other time.”
Aisha reported that With the start of the last ten days of Ramadan, the Prophet used to tighten his waist belt (i.e. work hard) and used to pray all the night, and used to keep his family awake for the prayers. [Bukhari]
2) Wet your tongue with Dikr : Increase the number of Salawath on Prophet(SA)
While you are at work, or traveling in car/bus, try to tell Dikr. Increase the number of salawath you tell on Prophet(SA). Let your tongue be wet with Dikr and salawath.
3) Personal Dua list and do deep sincere dua.
One of the best times to do this is during the last part of the night.
Ask yourself what you really want from Allah. Make a list of each and everything, no matter how small or how big it is, whether it deals with this world or not. Allah loves to hear from us. Once this list is ready, you can do three things:
Ask Allah to give you those things. Think about what actions you have taken to get those things
Develop a work plan to get those things in future.
4) Never Miss Laylathul Qadr
Look out for the night of power in the Odd nights of ramadan. This night alone is enough to fill your book with 80 years of worship.
Abu Huraira narrated that the Messenger said: Whoever stands (in prayer) in Laylatul Qadr while nourishing his faith with self-evaluation, expecting reward from Allah, will have all of his previous sins forgiven. [Bukhari and Muslim).
5) Get your sins wiped out.
Let us repent. Turn back to Allah. Ask Him forgiveness for all the mistakes we did in our life – knowingly and unknowingly. Let us clean our records and work for a new beginning. Let us all move back to Allah in sincere Touba and cry during the nights to make Him accept our good deeds, and wipe out our bad deeds, and join among those slaves who are granted protection from Hell fire. Ameen.
Let us all try brothers and sisters, to make this ramadan our best ramadan ever.
May Allah accept Ameen!!
